Population in which the disease is most common

Food allergies affect more than 50 million Americans and 4 to 6 percent of that is all children and another 4 percent is adults according to the CDC. A food allergy reaction occurs when your immune system overreacts to a food or a substance in a food, identifying it as a danger and triggering a protective response.(American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.2014) Food allergies can start and any time of life, but some are very common to start when many are children.
